A Westland Lysander of the Special Operations Executive embarks on another perilous covert mission into occupied territory. Although slow the Lysander’s short take off and landing ability was invaluable in these early stealth operations. The crew of two needed to be very skilled in airmanship to locate and land at a remote location in the dead of night, usually to pick up or drop off undercover agents in liaison with the French Resistance.
